May Allah’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you all. It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to another wonderful school year at Orange Crescent School (OCS). As the principal, I have had the privilege of witnessing our community grow and flourish over the years, and I am incredibly honored to serve as we continue on this journey of excellence together.
Our story began in 1983, when the founders of the Islamic Society of Orange County had a visionary goal: to establish the first Islamic school in Southern California. Their dream became a reality with the opening of Orange Crescent School, and since then, OCS has grown into a cornerstone of Islamic education in the region. In 2019, we reached another major milestone by opening the first Islamic high school in our area, allowing us to provide a continuous academic and spiritual education from early childhood through high school. Alhamdulillah, we now serve nearly 500 students, representing a beautifully diverse community with families from over 100 different countries.
At OCS, our students continue to excel in academics, Quranic studies, physical education, and extracurricular activities. Our school’s mission of academic and moral excellence remains the cornerstone of all we do. We offer a rigorous and enriching program that includes leveled Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies, as well as electives like Sports, Leadership, Home Economics, Jumaah Report and more. Our students also take part in various events throughout the year that foster their spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth, such as the Hajj Simulation, Seerah Commemoration, Science Fair, Spelling Bee, and community service projects.
Our staff remains deeply committed to providing the best possible education for every student. We take pride in offering a program that is both accessible and of high quality, regardless of socio-economic background, with the support of our community helping to keep our program affordable and accredited by WASC for over 20 years.
OCS has a rich legacy of 41 years, and with your continued support, we look forward to furthering our mission and expanding to meet the needs of even more students. Together, we will continue to create a safe, nurturing, and academically challenging environment that allows our students to reach their full potential.
