The Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC)—the founding organization of OCS— was established in 1976.  Spread across 5.2 acres, ISOC is a non-profit, non-political corporation that oversees both Masjid Ar-Rahman and Orange Crescent School.

The Majlis-e-Shura or Consultative Body is the main governing body of ISOC and made up of 17 elected ISOC community members.  Five members of the Shura are then elected to be on the Executive Committee including the OCS Board President.  The Board President then selects five to seven community members to help chair board committees.

The OCS Board President provides an update of school progress to the Executive Committee and brings to their attention items of concern so that informed decisions can be made in the interests of OCS students. The OCS Board President coordinates with the School Principal to ensure the smooth functioning of the school.
